The Seljuk Han of Anatolia

Covered Section Only Plan Type (C)

Hans with a covered section only: the covered plan (C)
This type consists of a closed, covered section with no courtyard in front of it. This type of han was used primarily in winter. The vaulting system is supported by piers. Many contained a lantern dome in the center of the vaulting to admit light. They can have single or multiple aisles, in one or two directions.

Many of the hans today only have a covered section, as the original courtyards were destroyed over the years.

Other hans with a covered section only include: the Atabey Kastamonu Han, the Derebucak Tol Han, the Dipli Dumluca Han, the Mellec Han, the Eynif Tol Han, and the Pamuk Han.
